Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, however will the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this season came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
