In a bizarre crossover event that challenges traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Disclosed

According to the official release, "A mysterious encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of forbidden rituals and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden sect.

The questline concentrates on "bizarre trials and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses

The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Bonus Material

Players who finish the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana alongside multiple items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe

• Survey Corps vehicle

Third Free Story Update

This release also adds the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe introduces a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime series. The series previously featured a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
